#GenBeauty 2015: Comic Con for Beauty Products

post1

This past weekend I was able to attend Generation Beauty (or #GenBeauty) put together by Ipsy. Ipsy, if you aren’t aware, was founded by Michelle Phan of Youtube fame. She founded the company after being asked several times by fans “what are the right products for me?” So Michelle and her team of stylists select products they love for you to try out each month in the ipsy bag.

This is the first time I have attended Generation Beauty. Unfortunately I was sick with a cold the entire weekend, but I braved it anyhow. It was definitely worth it for all the awesome swag I got! Thought I don’t think I’ve ever had to hashtag, tweet, and Instagram so much in order to get stuff! But heck, 5 seconds to hashtag and post and I got a $40 brush for free, so who am I to complain! I don’t want to cover all the goodies now since I’m going to do that in a separate post, so be sure to check back for that.

Some of the lines were rather long, but there was a lot of people there! There were some Youtubers and stylists talking at the event, but I was so caught up with being in line for goodies that I neglected to see any of them.

As a note, I got my ticket early so I paid half price, $80. I spoke with a lady at the event who said she purchased her’s for even less since she bought it a couple weeks after the event last year for the following year. So if you’re interested in going definitely check out their site in the next couple of weeks. Either way, it was definitely worth it!

And to finish, this awesome thing happened, Ipsy followed me on twitter!

So that just happened! Yes! #GenBeauty @ipsy
