YHA is turning 85!!! On April 10th, 1930, YHA was officially formed by a group of volunteers who wanted to provide young people with an affordable escape from city life. For 85 years their commitment has been “to help all to a greater knowledge, use and love of the countryside.” And to celebrate, as they should, they’re giving away some great prizes for anyone that’s got some wanderlust! Throughout their birthday week they’ll be giving away £100 ($146.72 at time of posting) worth of YHA vouchers per day (13th – 17th April 2015), plus two runners up prizes per day of your choice of YHA memberships.
YHA has a number of locations in the countryside, by the coast or in the city. You can check out my review of their London Central location in my post Hostel or Not to Hostel. Whether you’re looking to explore England or Wales, YHA is the place for you. YHA’s latest flagship hostels include YHA Brighton and YHA Cardiff Central (great for those visiting the Doctor Who exhibit). For a full listing of locations check out their site.
